I’ve generated thousands of leads and personally sponsored over 100 people in just a couple years by blogging. I think the web 2.0 is the wave of the future. All of the methods work very well, too. It’s just a personal choice of how you want to spend your time. I haven’t reached out to my warm market yet, but I might at some point. Most of my friends who do very well have built it exclusively through the warm market. Food for thought. Different strokes for different folks. That’s how I see it anyway.

Lead generation is very important for the growth of a business. The buying process has changed and marketeers need to rethink and refocus their efforts in order to stay relevant. If people demonstrate to you that they are interested in your business, when you go to contact them about your offering they are no longer a stranger– but rather a true sales prospect who has “told” you they are interested in your product or service.
Although lead generation no longer revolves around using the phone to identify qualified leads, that doesn’t mean the calling has stopped entirely. Once a sale is consummated, Customer Service should be notified via the CRM and take over managing the account. Sales also needs to set up automated reminders for following up with their customers and setting the table for up-sells and retained services. Marketing and Product Development also need to stay in the loop to send supporting, customer-centric content that educates customers on best practices and upcoming releases.
Agents need not be afraid to diversify with new lead sources. The internet may be chock-full of horror stories from agents who wasted time and money on paid online leads, but most don’t tell the full story. Agents should ask colleagues not only what sites they capture leads on but also their strategy for converting said leads. The bottom line is real estate will always be a people business. Agents who understand how online leads are generated and how to personalize their online buying and selling process will experience the greatest success.
