I just got back from one of my Recruiting Retreats, where I literally lock people in a house for three days and build their businesses with them.  One of the things we talked about was working leads...and in fact, we spent a fair bit of time actually having the people in the house dial leads.  Most of them had never called leads before...so it was a test for them, a stretch outside of their comfort zone, and a great way to learn.

Marketing works with Sales to establish key criteria for lead segmentation and scoring. Hopefully, you have already created a comprehensive list of buyer personas and a detailed buyer journey for each persona. If not, check out these resources. Now plan how you will capture this information through landing pages and forms, using a progressive profiling approach so that conversion rates are kept high. Identify relevant pages and events that, if visited or triggered, also allow you to update lead profiles during the buyer journey. Access LinkedIn, Data.com, Hoovers and other business data sites you can use to cross-reference leads and further develop their profiles. Some of these sources can be directly integrated through HubSpot and Salesforce apps and APIs.
Online home search engines have revolutionized the way consumers buy and sell homes. While these sites have the potential to bring in a considerable amount of revenue for any real estate business, pricing and quality of leads from these sites vary from traditional real estate leads. Below are a few variabilities that differentiate paid online leads that agents need to know, and a few tips for converting them.
Use social media. Posts asking people to join your team won't likely produce results, but if you're clever, you can use social media to generate interest in your business and possible leads. For example, if you sell weight-loss products, you can promote before and after pictures on Pinterest or Instagram. If you sell makeup, you can post tutorials on YouTube that you share across social sites.

You can have the best looking website in the world, but it won’t mean anything if no one wants to use it. User Experience (also called UX) refers to the way that website visitors search, browse, and use your website. Generally speaking, websites that have good UX convert well, and see longer on-page times with higher interaction rates. Bad UX often leads to high bounce rates and general confusion.
For example, let’s say your company sells curtains and curtain rods. You know a blog all about curtains is probably not going to interest anyone – but a "big picture" blog about room decorating and how your curtains improve interior spaces is likely to be a hit. Out of ideas? Create an infographic on the history of curtains, or write an entertaining article on notable curtains from historic paintings or events.
A powerful technique for building your reputation with a defined audience over a period of time is to regularly send them a newsletter, which can either be free or paid subscription. Newsletters can be used to position you as an authority in your marketplace, to build closer relationships with clients. You can use them to educate your target market so they can make more informed and more frequent buying decisions or educate them to the full extent of your services and how you can add value through those services.

Many competitors will seek to confuse you with a range of leads that is just way too wide and complex. It’s like trying to compare apples with oranges and is designed simply to confuse you.
